Today was another great day out there on the Long Island Sound. Paul, Craig and Sean Ames were joined by their relatives; Tim from Messina, NY and George from Burlington, VT.
We were able to find a pretty nice pile of fish early in the day to put a few in the box and then mixed up the rest of the day with some wire line trolling and jigging when the time called for it. We ended the day with 25 good sized Bluefish in the box that the boys tell me taste really good on the grill. I had a great day guys and thank you again very much for your generosity. Hope you guys had a trip to remember. Have fun tonight boys and guys have a safe trip back north when you guys leave town.
As you can see the Blues are chewing and getting bigger by the day, so book a trip now with Magic Touch Charters and get in on some of the August Bluefish action!

Today Andrew, Mike, Colin, and Teddy were aboard the Magic Touch and we had a Great Day on the Bluefish front! We ended the day with 55 Bluefish! Yes 55...These 3 kids did one heck of a job and so did Andrew. I had a great day guys and the boat only took 3 hours to get clean after you left!
The pile of fish we were on at the high point was so big that everytime your jig hit the water a fish was on. That was the best action I have seen so far this year guys and a new all time high for 4 guys this season on the boat!
We'll have to try to duplicate that trip again sometime guys! This is just the beginning of what August can bring on the Bluefish front! So don't wait until it's cold and over book a trip today to get in on some of the August Bluefish action.

Today aboard the Magic Touch we had Chip Marsland, his son Steven, and Martin Cabrera. We fished for about 4 hours and we were able to put a couple fish in the box. It was a bit slower than we had hoped but that's Fishing! Great job Steven on the big fish of the morning. I hope to see you guys again, and next time we'll have to hit them a bit harder.

You could not have asked for a much better day for fishing here in the Western Long Island Sound. We left the harbor around 8am quickly to find several large groups of Bunker being hit from below by both Bluefish and Striped Bass. There were several different batches of these baitfish some being bothered more then others. We wire line trolled on the outskirts of the pods to catch a few, jigged a few on one batch that had a lot of fish beneath it and we caught a very nice Striped Bass right around the 25lb mark that measured right around 40". We finished out the day trying our luck live-lining some Bunker we had snagged earlier on in the day to a couple more nice bluefish. Very nice work boys! I had a good time and hope you guys enjoy those filets. We will have to do it again sometime really soon.

Today we fished the morning 1/2 day trip with Matt, Mark, and Patrick. We left the harbor to a very dense fog with very poor visability. We started by trolling wire line through some scattered fish with no sucess. From there we decided to anchor up and chum and bait fish while we waited to see if the fog burned off. We had one run off and then as the fog lifted a bit we decided to make our move a bit further to the east and got into some nicer bodies of fish. We ended up having a pretty good late morning trolling up 9 nice Bluefish.
Matt ended the day with a 30" keeper Striped Bass and put his 1st
Bass of 2008 in the box.

Today Bobby and Dan Folchetti fished with us aboard the Magic Touch. We left the dock about 7am and wrapped it up just about 1:30pm. We Trolled 4 Bluefish up along with a nice 32" Striped Bass, caught on the Umbrella Rig. The weather was perfect and the Sound was flat calm. The day ended due to high winds and Thunderstorms moving into the area.
I had a great time guys. Thanks again for the good company.

Today Kenny Eastwood fished with us and we had a pretty good shot at the big chopper blues (8-13lbs) in the morning. We ended up Diamond Jigging them as they were all over the top swirling and surfacing. Good job of cranking guys. We ended the day with 10 chopper Blues. No picture today due to the camera being left at office but still wanted to include report.

Today Andrew and Jake came back out with us and this time they brought the girls and it lifted their curse! We had a really good day as we managed to sneak in a 1/2 Day Charter before the winds and the thunderstorms arrived.
It took a little while before we had a fish in the boat but it was a steady pick once we located them. We finished out the day with 9 nice Bluefish ranging from a couple smaller ones to a few close to 10lbs. Very nicely done everyone. Enjoy those fillets. Thank you again very much and thanks for coming back to see us.

Today was a very good day out there on the Western Long Island Sound. We put two very nice Stripers in the box. They were very similar in size both weighing in at right around the 25lb mark. 38"/40". Along with the Striped Bass we put 23 Bluefish on ice as well!
We left the dock at 10:30am and were back at 4pm. The day just came together from the moment we left the Harbor. We managed to find some bait fast on top and put about 20 in the livewell then we moved to a bigger batch of bait I was watching and got just on the outside edge and deployed the live baits. The picture tells the rest of the story. Great time guys rest those arms tonight!

Today we went out with a couple friends; Craig and John. We did pretty good in a short period of time. We fished from 10am-2pm and Trolled up 3 Bluefish and the smaller of the 2 Striped Bass you see in the picture above.
The larger Striped Bass was caught on a live Bunker. We missed two other fish that were large. They just were hitting the baits out of the water but there were many Striped Bass in the area. The big boy John is holding measured 38". Nice Fish Guys!

Today fishing with us was Mike, Jerry, and his son Jeff. We cast the lines at the dock around 6am to a very foggy start as we headed out of the harbor. The first line went off about 7:05am to a nice Bluefish. We steadily picked our way through the day and ended up capturing 9 nice Blues and one 30" Keeper Striped Bass! We were back at the dock by 2:30pm. June 1, 2008
The weather was overcast all day after the fog burned off around 10am and it never rained. Calm as a lake out there today and the fish all were caught trolling wire line. Thanks John for the nice hook up! Also thanks guys for allowing me the opportunity to help make your Father's Day a memorable one. We will see you guys again soon.

Tonight it was myself, Gary, Kevin, and Mike. We left the dock at 6pm and fished until 11pm.The Bluefish bit really well and they were all nice size fish ranging from 6-10lbs. We put 15 Blues in the boat and must have lost another 20 either buy pulling the hooks out of them or short strikes. The action was constant most of the trip.
We also managed to catch our biggest Striped bass of 2008 thus far with a nice 20lb/ 37'' fish! The bite is better and better by the day people as the bait gathers and starts schooling up. These large Striped Bass are just waiting for them and when the time is right that's there food of choice! Bunker...Bunker...Bunker!!!
I had a great time guys and can't wait to do it again with you guys in July.

Today we fished the early am for a short three hour trip. There was a good group of guys who came up from NYC. Mr Hughes is the man who caught the one and only Bluefish that made the ice box. A couple were missed chewing on the bait before converting over to jigs and Marcus had one chase him right up to the boat. The wind picked up as we were leaving and we landed at the dock by 10:45 am.
These guys were just getting the hang of the jigs when the horn blew. Next time guys we'll have to do a full day. Have fun at work today boys, Keep in touch!

Today was a great day out there on the water and the word of the day today was "Striped Bass!" We caught 5 Striped Bass with 4 of them being keepers!!! The fish ranged from 29-34 inches and all the fish fell to cut chunks of Bunker. We also boated 3 nice Blues. The water temperature was 61 degrees and the conditions were excellent for fishing. I had a great time out there guys...thanks again!
Fishing is getting better by the day so book your dates now while the fish are chewing! More and more bait is present every day and it won't be long now before they settle in.

There were a couple Bluefish caught in the short time out along with a nice 33" Striped Bass. Good job Mike on the Striped Bass. I hope he tastes good tomorrow night for dinner!

The boat is here in New Rochelle now at the Municipal Docks and ready to go fishing! Everything was redone this past spring and the boat is like brand new and rigged for Big Striped Bass and Bluefish. The weather is just starting to break and the reports are starting to surface about Striped Bass being caught.
Today the boat fished and some nice Bluefish were caught. Craig Ames was the man today landing some really nice fish on both diamond jigs and bunker chunks. We had a couple run offs that we suspect were Striped Bass. Any day now the bite should pick up. The weather is starting to warm up and this weekend is looking like a great one to get out and fish. Get those rods dusted off and give us a call. Don't miss out on the Spring run of Striped Bass here in the Western Long Island Sound!
